On behalf of the Treasurer’s Office, welcome to the Granville Exempted Village School District. In the Treasurer’s Office, we strive to be outstanding stewards of the money entrusted to us by the community and to work to support the excellent work done by the district’s educators and administrators.
For the most recently completed fiscal year, the Treasurer’s Office has received an award of distinction from the Ohio Auditor of State for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This marks the fourth consecutive year Granville has received this award. In addition, the district has received a certificate of achievement for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) from the Government Finance Officers Association for four consecutive years and has applied to receive it again for the year ending June 30, 2015.
Among the accomplishments we have reached over the past year is the refunding of most of the outstanding debt of the district. Much like a homeowner would refinance a mortgage when interest rates are favorable, the district’s bond refunding will reduce principal and interest payments by about $3.5 million over the next 15 years.
Adjacent to this letter of introduction you will find links to the district’s CAFRs, its five-year financial forecasts that are filed semi-annually with the Ohio Department of Education, five-year forecast presentations, and other information regarding the funding of local school districts in Ohio.
If you have any questions or concerns about finances of the district, please do not hesitate to contact me or a member of my staff. Thank you for the continued opportunity to serve the students, staff and residents of this great public school district.
