Welcome to the student section of the Granville School's website.
The primary purpose of this section is to provide links to various resources both inside and outside the district. Please use the links on the right hand side of this page to access web resources and/or instructions on how to setup/use them. For instructions on installing Student Office, please click here.
Different Technologies Explained
Student Email – every student in grade 4-12 has a Granville Schools email account. Students use their current computer username plus @granvilleschools.org then their current computer password to login. For example, if your name was John Smith and you are a senior your username would be email@example.com
We have recently added SkyDrive Pro to each student’s email account, enabling them to collaborate or share documents with other students and/or staff. Students can also create and edit Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote documents within SkyDrive Pro. A free SkyDrive app is available for iOS, Android, OSX or Windows in addition to web browser access
FYI - If your passwords are not synchronized between your school computer login and your student email, you can get them synced by changing your password on a school computer. Press CRTL – ALT – DELTE and choose change password. Please allow up to 5 minutes for the sync to occur.
Keep in mind, if you change your password it will also change it for other resources like Schoology, AcesTube, and your computer login
Schoology – Schoology is our district's LMS or Learning Management System. A LMS is very different than a webpage as it can allow much more than the delivery of content. A LMS enables a more engaging experience for students including forums, assessments, chat and video meetings. Schoology has several safety components included such as anti-bullying notification and web filter integration. Schoology currently is active in grades K-12
MyCloud is a web desktop that provides a one-time login to in-district areas like your My Documents from any device with a web browser. Whether you have an iPad, Android, MAC or PC, you can now have access to your files, programs and email from anywhere via a single login. Links to most of the resources listed on this page are already located on your MyCloud desktop. Login, click on the resource you need and have the system remember your password for easier access next time you need it.
BYOD – Our Bring Your Own Device program encourages students in grades 4-12 to bring in their personal device regardless of the manufacturer. Students can connect this device to a wireless network called ACESNET. Directions on how to connect to ACESNET can found in the links to the right.
AcesTube – AcesTube is our secure version of YouTube. Staff and students are able to upload video, audio, pictures, and PDF documents to this area. AcesTube will automatically format and convert the media uploaded to it allowing access from any device. Any media uploaded by students will need to be approved before it will become accessible.
Discovery Education – Each student in grades 4-12 has a login to the Discovery Education website. This login can be acquired from your building technology personnel. This login provides access to safe content through Discovery Education. Safely search this vast library for videos, images and other resources. Once you have received your login use the link on the right to login.
Learning.com - Learning.com is an online resource for students to practice a variety technology-related skills. This resource contains typing practice, tech skills usefully for the upcoming PARCC assessment, Internet Safety and much more. All students in grades K-12 have a Learning.com account. If you do not have your login, please see your teacher or your building's technology support team.
If you have any questions on the technologies listed above don’t hesitate to contact me anytime.
