Open Enrollment October 1-31, 2015

Open Enrollment for Calendar Year 2016 Benefits is October 1-31. Employees have access to the Explain My Benefits (EMB) portal to make changes or decline benefits from October 12-31.

You MUST process a transaction in the EMB portal, either to re-enroll, enroll or waive coverage(s) October 12-31.

The benefits guide and voluntary benefits information will be available to view on the EMB portal starting today. You do not need to log in to see this information; it is on the Granville EMB home page. Scroll down the page to view the benefits guide and voluntary benefits information.

All elections made during open enrollment will be effective January 1, 2016 (in prior years they have been effective November 1 following open enrollment).

Beginning January 1, 2016, health insurance benefits will reflect the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) recently approved by the GEA and the District. Under the MOU, the annual out of pocket maximums will increase for in-network providers by $750 for single plans and $1,500 for family plans. At the same time, the employee share of premiums will decrease on an annual basis by $750 for single plans and $1,500 for family plans. Classified employees will receive stipends twice per year (May and November) to cover the difference between the out of pocket increases and the premium reductions.

To change or waive a benefit election or change a coverage tier (i.e. change from Family to Single coverage), you will need to complete an enrollment transaction through the EMB portal during Open Enrollment October 12-31.

The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Account (DCA) requires an annual enrollment. If you wish to re-enroll, sign-up, change your contributions or opt out of enrollment for 2016, you must access the EMB portal and process a transaction. If you do not re-enroll in the FSA or DCA by completing a transaction in the Explain My Benefits portal, you will not be re-enrolled for 2016.

Click “Continue” to move through your enrollment

Finalize your enrollment by continuing through to the Confirmation Page and recording your confirmation number

If you do not have access to a computer to complete the online transaction or if you wish to speak with an EMB enrollment counselor, they will be onsite October 19 (GHS/GMS), 20 (GES) and 21 (GIS).
