New Procedures for Parent Pick Up
A top priority at GES is student safety and security. As a result, we are making some changes to student pick up at the end of the day. Students who do not walk or ride the bus home will still be picked up in the gym. However, parents are asked not to enter the gym before 3:35 p.m. Tables will be placed just inside the exterior gym doors, and parents will need to sign out their child on the designated form. Teachers monitoring parent pick up may ask for identification for verification purposes. No student will be released without being signed out by the appropriate persons. It is imperative that if a change in routine occurs, and someone not normally assigned to pick up a child will do so that parents contact the GES office as soon as possible.
Picking Up Early/ Change in Dismissal
Inevitably the time will come when your child needs picked up early from the office or there is a change in the dismissal routine. Please be sure to communicate this to the office as well as the teacher. If you send a note in the morning, teachers will be sure it is delivered to the office. However, teachers cannot guarantee they will see any emails or check voicemails during the day.
