GES Weekly Newsletter

GES Families,
A Blue Ace Leader at GES is respectful, responsible, and safe. Blue Ace leaders also exemplify our essential Portrait of a Graduate traits. At the end of every month students from all grades are chosen to be recognized for consistently demonstrating one of the Portrait of a Graduate traits. For the month of March, we recognized students who were demonstrating responsibility. Click here to see a list of the Blue Ace Leaders for March. Congratulations to this month's leaders!
Have a great weekend!

COUNSELOR'S CORNER
STRATEGY OF THE MONTH
In April students will be introduced to yoga. They will learn about some poses to use to help calm down when experiencing strong emotions. (click here) In addition, I will review the strategies that they have been learning throughout the year.

CLASSROOM LESSONS IN APRIL
All Grades: During the month of April, I will be sharing with students the legally-required lesson related to sexual abuse prevention. Classroom teachers will share in their newsletters when their specific lessons will occur. Please reach out with any questions.

Sincerely,
Mrs. Thatcher

Energy drinks actually increase sleepiness. The short-lived boost from the caffeine and sugar ends with a huge crash. Avoid energy boosters altogether. There is no magic drink on the market that will allow students to safely skimp on sleep.

REMINDERS

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES
Under state attendance laws, vacations are considered unexcused absences unless specifically stated in District policy. Vacations are now referred to as Alternative Learning Experiences, or ALE, as the District values and recognizes the learning that can take place with travel. Click here to apply for an ALE.
