We are pleased to welcome a familiar face as the new Granville Intermediate School assistant principal…Sarah Giannetto! Mrs. Giannetto’s hiring was approved during the June 26 Granville Board of Education regular meeting. Her official start date was August 1.
Mrs. Giannetto has been a fixture in Granville Schools for more than 20 years, teaching 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. She has served in many capacities during her tenure, including: serving on the building Local Professional Development Committee, assisting teachers in creating professional goals and relicensing; being a member of the Principal's Covid Leadership Team; assisting in creating rubrics to schedule math students in grades 5, 6, and 7; monitoring students during large group gatherings such as lunch, assemblies and dismissal; completing Functional Behavior Assessments and assisting in the development of IEPs for students; coordinating with local businesses to plan and organize field trips for students; collaborating with other teachers to write grants to ensure educational funding; examining standardized test data in order to make instructional decisions at the classroom and building level; and serving as a member of various building committees, such as technology and character education.

“I’m happy to continue my career at Granville Schools in this new role,” said Giannetto. “My goal is to work in conjunction with Mrs. Lees and the district leadership team to provide maximum learning for all staff and students.”
Mrs. Giannetto earned her bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and her master’s degree in education from The Ohio State University. She received her K-9 principal licensure in 2022 from Muskingum University.
“Sarah is a dedicated education professional with 22 years of teaching experience and proven knowledge of curriculum and instruction,” said Superintendent Jeff Brown. “We are confident she can take her teaching and leadership experience into this new role as assistant principal and make a tremendous impact on students and staff at GIS and within the district.”
Mrs. Giannetto lives in Gahanna with her two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and paddleboarding.
