The Granville Board of Education will hold
a special meeting on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 6:30 pm. The
purpose for the special meeting is to share the plan for the restart of schools
for the 20-21 school year as well as address policies related to this
restart.
This spring, Ohio
Governor Mike DeWine signed Amended Substitute House Bill 197 into law. This
new law is a response to the health risks associated with the Coronavirus
outbreak. Among other things, this new law allows public bodies such as boards
of education to conduct their meetings using telephone conference, video
conference, or other similar technologies.
This law became effective on March 27, 2020. The Granville Exempted Village
School Board of Education is committed to the health, safety, and welfare of
our students and their parents, our staff, and our community in general. But
even in these times, the Board needs to take certain actions to keep the District
operational now and fully functional in the future.
For these reasons, the Board will forego an in-person meeting on Thursday, July
30th to avoid a gathering of our board,
staff and community members and will instead conduct this meeting by
video conference at 6:30 pm on Thursday,
July 30, 2020.
The public is invited to join the Video
Conference via Facebook Live as another
option for viewing this meeting.
To join, please go to https://www.facebook.com/GranvilleExemptedVillageSchools/.
You will be able to watch the meeting and comment during Public Participation
via Facebook Live chat feature. You may also provide public comments to
Jeff Brown at [email protected]
prior to the Board Meeting provided we have received the comments by 6:00 pm Thursday evening.
You can view the agenda, minutes from the July 9, 2020 meeting and the Athletic Handbook which is also being approved at this meeting.
