Graduating Class of 2023
 
Senior Students and Families,
 
As we enter the final nine weeks of the 2022-2023 school year, we look forward to graduation on Sunday, May 28th. For your planning purposes, we want to communicate that once again each graduate will be allotted 10 tickets for family and friends to attend graduation. In addition, graduation practice for all GHS graduates will take place on Wednesday, May 24th. Please be on the lookout for more information regarding graduation soon.
 
2023 Yearbook Orders

It’s not too late to order your 2023 Blue & White yearbook. Students and parent may order yearbooks through April 1 at https://yearbookforever.com/. If you have any questions, please contact adviser Amy Tolbert at [email protected].

Counselor Update

The Ohio Supercomputer Center Summer Institute

The (OSC) summer camps empower students to pursue STEM-related interests through high-impact learning experiences and immersive teamwork. In the two-week Summer Institute, current 9-11th graders explore high-performance computing, programming and visualization. In the week-long Young Women's Summer Institute, current 6-7th grade girls learn STEM skills and scientific problem-solving. Applications are due April 16 at osc.edu/summer
 
PrepAccelerator March Free ACT Crash Course (1 session, 3h + q&a)

This condensed program is recommended for students seeking an introduction to the ACT.

PrepAccelerator March ACT Boot Camp (2 Sundays, 15h + q&a)

This in-depth program is recommended for students 3+ points below their target ACT score. The boot camp is immersive and covers content, techniques, pacing, and strategies.

Granville Kiwanis Foundation Scholarship

The Kiwanis Club of Granville is a service organization dedicated to providing a wide range of financial and other types of support and services to the Granville community. As tangible evidence of the club's commitment to youth, the Kiwanis Club of Granville (Granville Kiwanis Foundation) awards an annual scholarship to an outstanding student(s) selected by the club's Scholarship Committee. The scholarship is designed to recognize and support exceptional students graduating from high school who have distinguished themselves academically and as leaders in extracurricular activities and services to their communities.
DEADLINE: Email application to [email protected], by Monday, March 20, 2023. The application is located in the Schoology course, Class of 2023, Materials, Scholarship Folder.
 
Sarah Danford Memorial Scholarship

Mrs. Danford dedicated 47 years of her life to educating students at Granville Elementary School. She continued teaching because she cared and was proud of each and every student that entered her classroom. Mrs. Danford influenced her students and we want her legacy and love of learning to live on.
Applicants must be:
  • Graduating senior at Granville High School
  • Carrying a minim 3.0 GPA
  • Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited university.
  • Scholarship:
  • One-time 1,000 scholarship to be used for college expenses;
  • The winner will be selected and will receive recognition at GHS Senior Award Night.
  • Application Criteria:
  • Minimum 200 word essay;
  • Favorite memory of Mrs. Danford;
  • Describe future educational plans;
  • 3 Adjectives describing yourself;
  • What makes you the best candidate to receive this scholarship?
 
Submit all essay applications to the Granville High School Guidance office by April 28th, 2023.

Concessions Meeting

Quarterly concession meeting to be held Tuesday, March 14, at 7pm in the GHS health room (near gym). We will soon be posting open positions available for next year if you’d like to get more involved. Concession proceeds benefit education, athletics and the arts. For direct questions, email [email protected].
