Graphic Style Guide

Granville’s visual identity reflects the unique “brand” of the school district. Like other education organizations and businesses, we are striving to manage our brand as a visual link to our schools and a good business practice.

Consistent and coordinated use of Granville Schools’ visual identity elements is important for maintaining this brand.

The official logo for the Granville Exempted Village School District is for use when communicating to internal and external audiences. The images available here are for use in printed media only. If you need an image for digital use in social media or on a website, for example, please contact Janelle King.

Please adhere to the following guidelines when using the Granville Schools’ district logo:

  • The logo must be reproduced from original artwork.
  • The logo may not be altered or changed in any way.
  • The logo may not be incorporated into or combined with any other mark, symbol or graphic to create a new mark.
  • The logo must be used in conjunction with official school business or communication only. Any other use must be approved by the school district.

The Granville G:

The 3 paths contained within the “G” speak to the narrative of the Granville Schools (GS) visual identity, as it relates to the context, mission, and pillars.

The 3 paths in the mark help spark visual interest and compel the viewer to take a second glance. Some will see the “G” first and then the path, and others will see the reverse.

The Meaning of the Ace

The Ace embodies excellence in character and work. The Ace does not encourage egotism or boastfulness, rather, it calls students to rise above
indifference. The Ace does not necessarily symbolize a perfect score, instead, it represents a student whose heart
and mind is devoted to learning for life. In the end, the results aren’t as significant as the journey.

The Ace

As the mission of Learning for Life becomes the primary visual element for the GS identity system, the Ace will shift to a supporting role. Where the
“G” mark symbolizes a commitment to lifelong learning, both inside and outside of the classroom, the Ace is a visual benchmark of excellence during that pursuit.
