Theater set construction by two students for an upcoming show

Each year, GHS presents three productions - two plays and a musical - with more than 100 students involved through acting, working back stage and behind the scenes, and playing in the pit for the musical. For more information about how to get involved, please email srodocker@granvilleschools.org.

The Theater program had their kickoff/informational meeting for students and parents on September 4th at 7:00 pm.  At this meeting, students and parents learned how to get involved.

Show tickets for productions will be available at showtix4u.com approximately three weeks before opening.

Back to the 80's Theater poster

Granville High School presents ‘Back to the 80s: A Risky, Goonie, Breakfasty, Tale of Totally Tubular Time Travel’ on February 7th and 8th at 7:00 pm! Dean O’Carroll and Playscripts present this show. The show follows teenager, Mary Fitzfry, who travels back in time to meet her mom, Heather Fitzfry, in her glory days. Dr. Emmett Tan assists them throughout their journey. The mother and daughter duo have to navigate life with the tormenting duo of Jeff and Bitsy who follow their every move. Mary joins Heather and her team for the FooSkiKarSkaBaBaDiBoGoMX tournament to win the prized trophy and score a chance to get back home. Mary comes across timeless characters like Ferris Bueller and his pals, a pack of Gremlins, the Transformers, and various leg-warmed dancers. This show is exciting and hilarious with countless references to pop culture; audiences young and old will recognize the classic neon colors and ageless tunes!

The show is under the direction of Sara Wiper Rodocker and Stefanie Stanton with technical direction from Tim Stanton. Izzy Krieg is the production stage manager with assistant stage managers Anabelle Burt, Olivia Christian, and Emily Jesse. The student director is Sophia Shinka. The time-traveling teen, Mary Fitzfry, is played by Aubrey Baus. Heather Fitzfry, both young and old, is played by Lani Casto. The kooky scientist, Dr. Emmett Tan, is played by James Robinson. The teenage duo of Jeff and Bitsy are played by Grant Timmons and Ava Whitmyer respectively.

Tickets can be purchased at www.CUR8.com and doors open at 6:30.
