Granville High School Theatre Department Honors the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

GHS Theatre will honor the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, with a special performance featuring excerpts from the play 110 Stories.

110 Stories is presented by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Playscripts and the playwright Sarah Tuft. GHS Theatre students and alumni will share selected scenes from this powerful docu-play, which gives voice to the many personal experiences surrounding 9/11.

 

From the first crash at the Towers to a final goodbye at Ground Zero, 110 Stories takes us through the events of September 11 as told by those who were there. Based on interviews conducted by Tuft, the play weaves together the experiences of everyday people—a mother, a photojournalist, an ironworker, a chiropractor, and a homeless man who helped save lives that day. Through their personal stories, Tuft captures the shock and horror of September 11 while also highlighting the compassion, courage, and resilience that emerged in New York City in the aftermath.

 

This reader’s theatre presentation will bring together current GHS Theatre students and alumni, creating an opportunity for multiple generations of the program to come together to remember and reflect. For students who were born after 9/11, 110 Stories offers a deeply human way to connect with an event that shaped our nation and our world.

 

The performance is free and open to the community. 110 STORIES is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Playscripts. The GHS Theatre Program offers this presentation as a gift to our community in remembrance of those who were lost, those who responded, and all those whose lives were forever changed by September 11.

Performance: September 11 at 7:00 p.m.

Doors open: 6:30 p.m.

The GHS Theatre is excited to announce its 2026–2027 season, featuring a special commemorative performance, a world premiere, a beloved classic, and an exciting spring musical!

 

Friday, September 11 — 110 Stories. This is a special performance honoring the 25th anniversary of 9/11. GHS Theatre students and alumni will share selected scenes from this powerful docu-play, which gives voice to the many personal experiences surrounding 9/11. The presentation will be Friday, September 11^th at 7pm and admission is free. 

 

Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7 — Turkey Day. The World Premiere of an exciting new show! Friday, February 5 and Saturday, February 6 — Charlotte’s Web.  Friday, April 30 and Saturday, May 1 — Catch Me If You Can.

 

 Each year, GHS presents three productions - two plays and a musical - with more than 100 students involved through acting, working back stage and behind the scenes, and playing in the pit for the musical. For more information about how to get involved, please email srodocker@granvilleschools.org.

Each fall,  there is a kick off meeting for parents and  students to learn about the program and find out how to get involved.
