It continues to be such an honor and privilege to serve this incredible learning community. Granville Elementary enjoys a rich history of being a strong and vibrant community school. This is a direct result of the partnership between our school staff, parents, community members and organizations who continue to work collaboratively to provide extraordinary educational experiences for our students. Daily, I look forward to continuing this partnership and keeping the focus on doing what is best for each of our wonderful students. Through collaborative and thoughtful effort, we can achieve just about anything.

As we begin a new school year, welcome back. If you are a new family to the Granville community, welcome! If you are a prospective family, come by and visit. Here at GES we offer kindergarten through third grade settings with a variety of distinctive programs including enrichment, special education, academic intervention supports, a strong arts and physical fitness program, and ever-increasing integrated technology. Our building-wide positive behavior support program - PAX - focuses on behaviors that support learning, leadership and positive relationships. In addition, we celebrate specific core character traits each week recognizing students who exemplify these traits during the week and throughout the year as we help our students internalize and learn the practical application of building positive character and leadership.

Each day as I visit classrooms I am encouraged to see such enthusiasm for learning. The students are engaged in conversations, collaborative learning, relationship-building, critical thinking, problem solving and sometimes they are taking a movement break and showing some crazy dance moves.

One of our paramount goals at GES is that students develop a love for learning, and that happens best when teachers build relationships with their students, know them well and tailor the learning as much as possible. As your principal, my charge is to continue to protect our strong school culture; strive to be a servant leader to our staff and families; help maintain a safe and joyful learning environment for our students; and whenever and wherever possible, come alongside your child in his/her educational journey.

I look forward to working alongside each of you in this important endeavor.
