Single Stream Recycling

Single Stream Recycling is a technology that allows each school to place all acceptable recycled materials into a single dumpster without having to sort the items by various categories. The materials will be taken to a plant where the items will be collected, processed, and remarketed.

The following items will be recycled using this method; junk mail, newspapers, magazines, office paper, all plastics 1-7, cardboard, aluminum and metal cans. No glass, phone books or bound catalogs/textbooks will be recycled with this process.

Recycling baskets and canisters are being placed in each classroom/office space along with the larger common areas. Teachers work with the students in helping them understand the program.

Our goal is to reduce the materials placed in the waste dumpster by 50 percent.
