PSAT: The Preliminary SAT® National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

The PSAT is an integral piece in each student's educational foundation. Offered in October each year, all sophomore and junior students are strongly encouraged to take the test. According to the College Board, the developers of both the PSAT and SAT, the PSAT is one of the best ways for students to prepare for the SAT.

All students who take the PSAT receive valuable feedback based on their performance on the test in the form of the student Score Report. This report offers an item analysis and a specific breakdown of each student’s strengths and weaknesses.
Junior students who take the PSAT also enter themselves into competition for scholarships from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.

Students will receive an email link in December to access their score reports online. Their score report will guide them toward setting up free test prep for the SAT with Khan Academy.

Explore careers.
Register for the SAT.
Send their scores to prospective colleges and universities.

There is NO Late Arrival the Wednesday of the PSAT. School begins at 7:55 a.m. even if your student is not taking the PSAT.
