The maintenance and upkeep of the school district’s facilities is not only important in providing an effective education to the students, but also to protect the investment that the citizens of the Granville School District have made throughout the years.
The school district has developed a preventive maintenance plan, created a budget that supports the plan and hired GCA to manage the maintenance staff.
The school district has invested in updating the facilities to make them more energy efficient. Included in this project is the replacement of the roof at GIS, the refurbishing of boilers and a program to make lighting in all buildings more efficient.
In conjunction with the energy conservation efforts the district has an Occupant Use and HVAC Policy. The goals for the policy are;
- To provide for a healthy and comfortable environment.
- To be energy and resource efficient.
- To educate students and staff about energy conservation.
The policy provides guidance concerning the lighting, use of computers and technology equipment, use of miscellaneous electrical equipment, set points for HVAC, transportation and energy communication and education.

Water Testing
We are required to monitor the drinking water for
specific contaminants on a regular basis. The water at GIS is tested as
required, however the testing in June was done earlier than required. Therefore we are required to send this notice.
