Granville High School Mission Statement

Growth. Harmony. Scholarship. Granville High School is committed to the betterment of society by empowering students to grow in the areas of scholarship, extracurricular activities and personal well-being, while maintaining a harmonious relationship within the GHS community.

Achievements

Granville High School has been recognized at both state and national levels for its excellence, including being named by The Ohio Department of Education as a School of Distinction, and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School. GHS was named one of the top 10 public high schools in the nation by The Wall Street Journal (1999), citing our school for outstanding student performance over the previous 10 years based on SAT, achievement and standardized test scores.

Credentials

Granville High School is a four-year comprehensive public high school, accredited by the North Central Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges and the State of Ohio. GHS holds memberships in the state and national associations for College Admission Counseling and the College Scholarship Service Assembly. The GHS Blue Aces are members of the Licking County League as well as members of the Ohio High School Athletic Association.

Serving the Whole Student

Granville High School provides a program to serve the whole student. A challenging and diverse curriculum coupled with character-building programs earned GHS an outstanding reputation. GHS alumni have earned admission to over 200 top universities and institutions of higher education.

GHS offers an excellent curriculum including Advanced Placement (AP) studies in English, music, mathematics, social studies and global languages. Many GHS students participate in the College Credit Plus program (CCP) that allows them to enroll in and receive credit for college courses. Students looking to develop technical or trade skills may choose to attend C-TEC, Licking County’s award-winning Career and Technical Education Center.

Students are supported in their academic endeavors by teaching and guidance professionals. In addition to traditional guidance roles, such as secondary education exploration and admission, the School Counseling department also provides an Individual Success Plan (ISP) program. The ISP program is available to all students and matches their needs with support resources. GHS has implemented a comprehensive Code of Academic Integrity, along with the "ACES" vision of our graduates. Students are expected to adopt and embody the program’s standards, which states that all GHS grads will be "Articulate, Collaborative, Ethical and Scholarly."

GHS offers students a full spectrum of extracurricular activities and programs to compliment their academic learning. Students may choose to participate in athletics or clubs such as: Debate, Mock Trial and Student government programs; French & Spanish Honor Clubs; Drama & Thespian groups; Marching, Pep and Jazz Bands, along with an Orchestra program; Yearbook and Newspaper organizations; Key Club, Envirothon and other service learning groups. We invite your inquiries and visits to our school to learn more!
