GHS Students Earn National Merit Recognition

 

Ten Granville High School students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for their high scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  

Three students qualified as National Merit Semifinalists and will apply to earn Finalist status:

  • Will Emery, son of Scott and Wendy Emery.

  • Eric Miller, son of Thomas and Wendy Miller.

  • Austin Richards, son of Jeffry and Nancy Richards.

These academically talented Semifinalists are among the highest scoring entrants in Ohio. Those who reach the Finalist level will be notified next February, and National Merit Scholarship winners will be announced beginning in April 2015. Good luck Will, Eric and Austin!

In addition, seven students were recognized as National Merit Commended Scholars for their outstanding academic promise:

  • Alex Chesrown, son of Nick Chesrown and Jennifer Browning.

  • Sam Corrigan, son of Kevin and Peggy Corrigan.

  • Tim Goldenberg, son of Tatiana Goldenberg.

  • Matthew Jardell, son of Jeffrey and Nicole Jardell.

  • Cassidy Maher, daughter of Philip and Elizabeth Maher.

  • Josh Richards, son of Michael and Loreen Richards.

  • Jessica Shallenberger, daughter of David and Sharon Shallenberger.

“This recognition is a great honor and compliment to each of these students!” said Interim High School Principal Matt Durst.
