Archery Teams Qualify for Nationals

All three Granville Archery Teams participated in the Arnold Fitness Classic and qualified to attend the National Archery Tournament in Louisville, KY, this summer. Two Granville students qualified as individuals based on their scores. Freshman Scott Sharp tied for 5th place in the HS Division with a score of 288 and 20 bullseyes and sixth-grader Allison Covey placed 9th in the Middle School Division with a score of 281 and 14 bullseyes.

Top finishers in the Elementary Division were:

Luc Kadlic 255 - 7 tens
Jason Noth 249 - 8 tens (Jason shot a 50/50 on his first scoring round at 10 meters)
Colin White 249 - 6 tens

Top finishers in the Middle School Division were:

Allison Covey 281 - 14 tens
Michael Sarap - 274 - 14 tens
Annabelle Foster - 265 - 10 tens

Top finishers in the High School Division were:

Scott Sharp - 288 - 20 tens
Benjamin Gibson - 276 - 11 tens
Addy Hampton - 275 - 13 tens.

The GIS Archery Club competed in the Logan tournament in late February, with several archers posting their best scores. The Grade 4-5 grade team and GMS both placed fourth.

Michael Sarap placed second overall with a score of 283 with 14 tens. Allison Covey shot a 273 with 11 tens and Teralyn Paro shot a 272 with 8 tens. Ian Anthony Bagents placed fourth in the 4th Grade division with a 231 and 2 tens, and Jason Noth placed fifth in the 4th grade with a 229 and 3 tens. Malcolm McCarthy was our highest fifth-grader with a 255 and 5 tens. Sophia Mouser shot a 254 with 6 tens, and Antony Goldenberg shot a 254 with 6 tens.

The GIS Archery Club participated in the Nelsonville AAC Tournament March 12 and three archers placed:

Michael Sarap placed 2nd in the MS Division with a score of 286 and 16 tens (he missed 1st place by 1 point).
Sophie Mouser placed 4th with a score of 257 and 7 tens.
Quinn McCarthy placed 5th with a score of 196 with one ten
