Substance Abuse Prevention Policy Survey & Forum

The Granville School District is responsible for providing a safe and healthy environment for our students. We periodically review our policies to ensure that they are in line with community expectations and best practices. Currently, we are considering revisions to our Substance Abuse Prevention Policy that governs students who participate in optional extracurricular activities.

Some school districts have implemented policies that include random drug and alcohol screening as a means to help reduce the use of those substances by students. At this point, the district is soliciting input from the community to help guide our policy decisions. Our goal is that our policy can help give students the opportunity to make sound, healthy decisions while reflecting the values of the community. This is the first step in a continuing conversation we will have with the community on this topic. A next step will include a community forum, which will occur on June 15 in the GHS Theatre at 6 p.m.

The District would appreciate you taking a few minutes to answer the following questions about potential additions/changes to the Granville School District’s current Substance Abuse Prevention Policy. Here is the link to the survey.
