Brandon Messner Receives Coughlin Award

Each year, the Coughlin Automotive Group honors one teacher from each district in Licking County with the “You Make a Difference Award.” For 2017, the Granville Schools honoree is Brandon Messner, an intervention specialist at GIS.

The purpose of the award is to recognize and honor each recipient for his or her outstanding effort to make a difference in the lives of students. Any teacher from pre-kindergarten through grade 12 is eligible.

Brandon was nominated by Tiffany Bafford for his dedication to her son, Cohan.

“Mr. Messner not only in helps him tremendously with math, but also makes school fun and gives him confidence, all while Cohan learns to respect others and actually enjoy school,” Mrs. Bafford said. “Mr. Messner makes him feel welcomed and cared for. We respect him as a teacher and mentor. His communication with me in regard to Cohan at school is invaluable. He is an amazing person and teacher.”

Brandon will receive a framed certificate and $500 cash at a county-wide recognition luncheon on March 1. The district’s nomination was coordinated by the Granville High School Student Council.
