GES
Granville Elementary School Music Teacher Elizabeth Kowalczyk has completed all three levels of the Orff-Schulwerk training, which is a type of teaching that involves all children using poems, rhymes, games, songs and dances. In this teaching students are able to be creative and experience playing the Orff instruments, such as the wooden xylophones, and metal glockenspiels.
GIS
Music Teacher Emily Hartman has a blog to share activities and photos of her GIS students. Orchestra and band are also offered as an elective to all students starting in 5th grade.
GMS and GHS
A full offering of Band, Choir, and Orchestra classes are offered in grades 7-12 as well as musical production courses such as AP Music Theory. From large group classes to small group and individual ensembles to student interest-based groups, GEVSD has a musical offering to provide an outlet for any musical passion!
