The Granville Robotics Boosters' mission is to aid the students and faculty of the Granville Exempted Village School District Robotics teams by providing financial and administrative support, encouragement and assistance as needed. The Robotics Boosters may recruit students, teachers and parents with a goal of fostering broad student interest and encouraging community participation. The boosters are organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purpose, The organization is currently seeking 501(c)(3) status as an exempt organization of the Internal Revenue Code.
Participation in the robotics team provides students an opportunity to learn programming, design, electrical and mechanical engineering, media design, strategic thinking and hands on building skills. Each year the team produces a robot from scratch. The program fosters team work and "gracious professionalism", a term coined by Dr. Woodie Flowers, FIRST National Advisor and Pappalardo Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which means producing high quality work, valuing each teammates contributions, and treating others with respect and kindness throughout the competitive process.
