Academic Development

Students will acquire the attitudes, knowledge and skills contributing to effective learning in school and for life.

Students will complete school with the academic preparation essential to choose from a wide range of substantial post-secondary options, including college.

Students will understand the relationship of academics to the world of work and to the life at home and in the community.

    Delivery System:
    • Individual counseling: working with students one-on-one to monitor progress, set short-term goals, and plan for high school.
    • Mediation: collaborating with students, parents, and teachers to initiate communication, and create a team of support.
    • Referrals: connecting families with outside tutoring and community agencies, and working with the GMS intervention team to develop a plan to assist and support students within the classroom.
